Hey Look ... A Man In A Kilt!

So after a very stressful voyage to scotland, rachel and I finally arrived in one piece. Chelsey picked us up at the airport, and I couldn't have been happier to see her. We took a bus from the airport to her dorm which was only about thirty minutes. Once we arrived we picked up some sandwhiches and hung out and waited for the rest of the london crew. Lauren had class until five and couldn't skip, so erin and kristin waited for her, and the three girls flew later that evening.

Once reuniting with the london girls and alexa, we got ready and headed out for a drink. (much needed after the chaos of the day). We ended up at a pub in the city and had a few beers, and plenty of laughs.

Chelsey and alexa live about a ten minute walk  from each other, which is nothing compared to me and lauren. There dorms are very similar to ours, a narrow rectangle.. Except they have some color on the walls!

On saturday, we slept in a "wee" bit, and then woke up to start our tourist adventures. Little did we know, we would wake up to snow. Yes, SNOW! What in the world, I haven't seen snow since I left in january! Well, there goes our plan to hike up the mountain. We bundles up and headed into the city. In all honestly, I couldn't tell you of the top of my head what we saw, but the girls brought us to all the relevant and well known spots.

After a cold day of sight seeing we headed back for a nap and a movie. I will say, we take our apartment and televisions for granted. Three girls crowded around a computer screen to watch a movie we found online, that doesn't play all the way through without "buffering" ... Annoying. We're really roughing it huh.

Anyway, that night alexa organized a pubcrawl for us. We started at the student bar near chelseys room and then ventured into the city. We stopped at a few different places but my favorite was finigains, an irish pub. I fell in love. I wish we went all night. They had live music, awesome accents and people dancing everywhere. It was a typical, true to its heritage  irish bar if you know what I mean. Right up my alley. Needless to say it got my beyond excited for st pattys day and our trip to ireland in april. Oh, and we met a boy named "johnny o'tool" haha seriously, had a field day with that one. and yes, he was a very big tool.. If the shoe fits.

Sunday we headed out to do a walking tour of the underground vaults. They are supposedly haunted with spirits and all that jazz .. So we figured we'd check it out. Well little did we know this tour was in a tunnel that smelt like mildew up the wazoo and had water dripping from the rocks. Then our tour guide goes, oh if your tall watch out .. And then pointed is flashlight up to the ceiling,... Covered with cobwebs and nasty ish. Yuck! Chelsey and I just looked at each other. Seriously .. We're both 6'1", good decision guys.

After the tour we ventured around the city and went souvenir shopping. I bought an official scotland rugby shirt, so pumped. I'm a sucked for sporting apparel.

Unfortunately rachel and I had to head back to london because she has class tomorrow and I have a paper due by 6 pm ... which I haven't written yet ... oops? Guess its going to be a long night, sorry but scotland was priority.

Our flight back was a lot smoother than the one there. We finally arrived at the airport on time, so the sprinting across the airport and standby ticket wasn't an issue. But when we were talking on the plane, rachel pointed out that the tube ride from our dorm to the airport is as long as the flight from heathrow to edniburgh. That's ridiculous. Within an hour I could get to one end of the city or to another country.

It was bittersweet leaving chelsey and lex tonight. I had a blast with them, and did not want to leave because I won't see them again until we're back in the states, but I have so much going on in the next few weeks i feel like this trip was the beginning of the madness to come.

Oh, and one other small thing about the weekend ...

MY MOM IS OFFICALLY COMING TO LONDON!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!
Words cannot even convey the excitement. April 1st and she is here... in london ... With me. Is this real life?! HOLLY BOLLOCKS!!!
yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay!
seriously, I don't think its possible for anyone to understand how excited it am.

so now that the weekend is over. I have to write this paper by six pm tomorrow, and then I'm not moving. We've been going non-stop for the past week, time for a break. And to top it off, we all woke up saturday morning sick. All five london girls, sick after an hour long plane ride. April is going to be a long month of travelling if were gna keep getting sick. No good.

Anyway, overall... Awesome weekend in scotland. Absolutely loved seeing chel and alexa, I miss seeing them everyday at school, but as soon as were all together... Its like we never left each other. No matter what we do, it ends with tears from laughing so hard... I wish we didn't have to leave. Love my 401 girls, loved the accents .. And loved the kilts! [considered buying one to bring home for jed or jacob ... HA, thatd be one hell of a sight huh!]

Next trip: paris!

time to get crackin on this paper..
after I upload my pictures, check my facebook and skype of course :)

<3. excited for the weeks to come!
