this weekend we had GORGEOUS weather.
i am in love.
seriously, if the weather stays like this,
i just might have to stay in london.
[ and that means alot coming for me]
but seriously, how can you not love life
on a beautiful spring day.
since michaela was here for the weekend and has already been to london, for once we didnt have to do the typical tourist attractions. so instead, saturday morning we woke up and headed to a wine and cheese festival. we didnt know to much about it, but jade found it online, and it was outside and free so we figured hey why not .. we like free things ..and who doesnt love wine and cheese?
we walked around the festival for a while. it was pretty much like a typical weekend market. there were different booths set up with baked good, beer, wine, cheeses, and other yummy treats. this one had more cheese booths, given that it was a cheese festival and all.
i love cheese,
but having so much, in one place at once,
talk about stinky. ickk.
so we walked around for a bit and then got a little snack and beer.

the girls tried a raspberry beer, and i went with a light german lager.
i tasted the raspberry beer .. it was ok, but the berries gave the taste a little bite.
it almost tasted as if the beer was sour, or if some wine was added.
not a fan, but it was interesting.
erin. michaela. me. jade
olive you.
umm hello carb heaven.
then we took a little stroll down the street and ended up next to the london eye. since it was so beautiful out, there were people everywhere. out with their kids, picnicking.. i swear it was like out of a movie.
<3
hello sun. please tell me your here to stay.
after the wine and cheese festival, we headed to borough market for some lunch. we walked around for a while, but couldnt decide what we wanted to get. jade and i ended up deciding on falafels ... delicious. but i love going to the market. so much fresh fruits and veggies and every type of food you could imagine. luckily everything is pretty cheap because you want to buy everything.
biggest merguine cookies ive ever seen.
as we were scoping out of lunch options, i came across this.
of course i forgot what it is called. but they take a legit half of a cheese wheel and put it under a flame and melt it. when it gets to a certain point they take it out, scrape off all the melted cheese and put it over potatoes. oh my god. talk about a heart attack on a plate, but it looks unreal! i was trying to be somewhat health so i held off on the potatoes covered in cheese ... but that doesnt mean i wont try it before i leave!
after lunch we walked around for a bit ended up getting alex her belated birthday gift, wine.
at the market there is a particular winery that has a booth. you buy a bottle for 2 pounds and then fill it up with the wine you choose for 6 pounds for a liter. the cool thing is that you bring the bottle back each week and refill and try different wines. pretty much the same jugs of beer at a brewery. so every week she can try a new type of wine and save money too!
after the market, we took michaela to hummingbirds cupcakes ... its a requirement for anyone who visits us. they are delicious. then we finally met up with lauren and kristin and head back to the dorm for a family dinner. after dinner we hung out and chatted, ate our cupcakes and had some wine. the girls went out after this and i stayed in because, natasha thought it was a good life decision to sign up for a 5k race. yes, good decision three weeks ago when i was running. these past to weeks have been chaos between school, visitors and traveling, i havent ran in forever and have replaced it with eating. well, i dont know how but i woke up bright and early and headed to the race.
i arrived at the race a little late, but after i checked in, i sat around for about an hour until the race started. luckily right around the time the race began the sun really came out and it warmed up a bit. the begining of the race was a little rough, my shins/ ankles were killing me. a little over half way through it went away and i felt like i could actually run. the course was through a park which was nice minus the sections through mud. well, good news is i survived the race. the bad news, im pretty sure a snail beat me to the finish line. alright i didnt do horrible, decent for not having done any sort of cardio other than walk up my stairs in three weeks, so i guess in the long run im happy i finished it.
38.47 ... really?
bahaha, thats embarassing.
oh yeha i was 133 out of 138 i think.
shh dont tell my dad.
well the important part is i finished it. and the best part was that when i came around to the finish line, i saw the girls there, cheering me on! i dont know how they all made it out of bed and there in one piece, on time, but they did. any they were there to cheer me on in the end. =)
i even got a metal!
#1 first place... not!
happy i survived!
while we were standing there at the end of the race, the girls told me that when they started cheering for me in the end the announcer saw them and said "yes, those of your who are watching and not participating, should feel bad about yourselves". haha we all got a chuckle out of that. listen mister, i was impressed they made it to the finish line. four girls waking up on at 930 on a sunday morning and hoping on a tube and hung over no less! thanks for coming girls, it meant alot to me =)
after the race we headed to spitafield market once again for lunch. we ended up with crepes this time, and i was so tempted to get one covered in fruit, chocolate and whipped cream ... but i held back. after the market we headed to the train station because michaela had to head back to france, and i ... needed a nap. and thats exactly what i did, i went grocery shopping, took and nap and then made dinner and whatched a movie on ma computer. it has been a hectic few weeks with everything going on. this coming weekend is paris. then our last week of classes oh and them my mom comes to visit!!!
10 days until i see her! i cant wait .. i feel like its been forever!
tomorrow is my long day of class, but at least we have good weather to look forward to. perhaps a bike ride around the park on my day of wednesday? hey, beats doing school work.
there is an update on my life ... four blog post in one day.
sheesh i went form blogging everyday to slacked hard core.
ill have to stay on top of it now.
thats all for now.
<3 absolutely loving life.
