Welcome To The Pink Palace

we have finally reached our last stop of spring break. i never thought we'd make it here!
welcome to the pink palace.
a famous backpackers hostel
college kid friendly.

after we were picked up from the port we headed to the palace. we were all SO excited. this was the one stop of the trip that i was very excited to go to. an island with sun and beaches! well first off im sure you are wondering why its called the pink palace .. i dont have an answer for that but yes.. everything there is pink!!

when we walked into the reception, we were greeted by possible the most bubbly person ever...seriously, she was way to excited for life. but, she welcomed us was pink shots of ouzo. a traditional liquor in greece .. but it tasted horrible aka like black licorice.

yiamas!

after we settled in, we headed downstairs to hang out and walked around the area a bit.

we were all excited to finally arrive to the pink palace because out of all of our stops, our stay here was the longest. it was nice to not have to pack and unpack a suite case within 24 hours. our first full day there, we took the four wheelers out and road them into the town. it took us about 45 minutes to actually make it there, and once we arrive it started to rain so we headed back. bummer about the rain but it was fun to ride into town.. but a bit scary. i didnt realize that we would be taking them on the main road, so we had to be extra catious. riding next to the cars definately freaked me out, but i am happy to report we all returned in one piece with not accidents or injuries.

that night we attended the toga party. yes.. i said toga. now when we signed up for this, i thought they would give you a toga...nope. they handed us a large piece of pink fabric and told us to use our imagination. haha, funny joke. we struggled with this let me tell you what. after a while we all ended up using belts and sticking the fabric around it to help hold it up. how we managed to do it idk but it stayed. who would have ever thought id have to make my own toga ... and a pink one at that.

the next day we signed up for a boat cruise. my goal for this trip was to come back with a tan, so being on a boat out on the water for the day seemed like the perfect opportunity to do that. well for the most part we had a blast on it minus the fact that the water was freezing and we had to walk out to the boat to get on, it was so windy and i was chilly, we had to bring sandwiches for lunch ahead of time, which we not so yummy  and when we returned the water was so rough that the boat couldnt make it in as close as it picked us up so we had to jump into the water and swim to shore. we all left our bags on the boat and jumped in. although we had our swimsuits on, we had dresses on over them.. so that was interesting. but once we got back to our room and showered i realized i got alot of sun.. actually kinda a bad sunburn but i was ok with it because it turned into a tan =)

everyone on the boat

the last day was the best weather out of all four we were there... that was my sign to sit and tan. we headed down towards the beach and relaxed and lounged in the sun all day. i wish we had an extra day or two for that. i felt like we were always on the move during break and we finally have to opportunity to sit and chill.. no sight seeing, just relaxing. that night we headed down for our last dinner and had a few drinks at the bar.

last night in paradise

btw: breakfast and dinner was included with our stay. it was sick. breakfast was 8:30 - 11 and they cooked you eggs and sausage (really little hotdogs) but they would make you any style eggs you wanted and there was toast, cereal and yogurt. dinner was served at 8:30 every night, a three course sit down dinner which was served to us. it was sweet, loved it. soup, greek salad and a main meal and they were all delicious. over all an awesome place for us to stay. we never left the main site which was good on our bank accounts, no paying to travel places or buy things and a heck of alot less stressful.

back to foggy town

overall we had an AMAZING spring break. by the end of it we hit 6 cities in 12 days and made so many unforgettable memories. i am so pleased with our whole trip and impressed that we never really hit and big issues..impressive for us (at least me!) although i loved the trip i was excited to head back to london at the end. i was over traveling non-stop and ready to be back in my tiny little cell in crack alley. we headed back to london the next morning and finally arrived back to our rooms at about 4:00 pm that day.

spring break is officially over...

but the party isn't!
next stop
dublin, ireland
